WHAT IS CARBOXYTHERAPY? 

Carboxytherapy is the use of carbon dioxide gas for therapeutic purposes. This technique originated at the beginning of the last century in France, but the term was introduced for the first time by Luigi Parassoni in 1995 at the Italian Aesthetic Medicine Society’s 16th National Congress. 

HOW DOES IT WORK AND WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS? 

The treatment is administered through certified medical devices with a suitable technology, connected to a cylinder containing medical CO2. The machine is connected to an administration tube with a small needle that is inserted into the area requiring treatment: when it is all well-positioned, the device is activated and the gas is injected into the subcutaneous tissue. 

Carbon dioxide generates multiple effects inside our body that have been the subject of numerous studies over the years. We can summarise the benefits of Carboxytherapy as: 

a rehabilitative treatment to re-balance microcirculation (vasodilation and neoangiogenesis) and improve oxygenation of the tissues; it increases lipolysis; it stimulates the proliferation and activation of fibroblasts (the cells in charge of collagen production); it increases the oxidative processes of the fatty acids in the body.
